Philosophy
Our philosophy is child-led, play-based, and rooted in outdoor immersion. We are influenced by the Waldorf, Montessori and Reggio philosophies.
Location and Amenities
Seedlings Nature Playschool is a home-based preschool in Linthicum, MD on 1.2 acres of land bordering Patapsco National Park. In addition to the natural world, children have access to a natural playground, friendly chickens, and Reggio-inspired classroom on-site.
Curriculum
Our curricular guide has been woven from the Coyote’s Way, the seminal work presented in the Eastern Regional Association of Nature and Forest School (ERAFANS) Nature-Based Teacher Certification Course. All lead guides are ERAFANS-certified or in the process of receiving their certification.
Hours and Services Provided
At Seedlings Nature Playschool we serve children aged 1-6 in a mixed age group. Preschool aged children in our care engage in an immersive outdoor educational experience. We offer care between 7:30AM - 5:30PM. Though we currently offer a student-to-guide ratio of 1:8, we plan to maintain a ratio of 1:6 and to begin excursions into the adjacent Patapsco Park for our older children as soon as we are able.
